Artificial intelligence, often shortened to AI, is technology that allows computers to carry out tasks that usually need human thinking. These tasks might include answering questions, recognising images, translating languages, recommending videos, predicting what might happen next, or helping people write and edit work.
AI works by using data and algorithms. Data is information, such as words, numbers, images, sounds, or videos. An algorithm is a set of step-by-step instructions that tells a computer what to do. AI systems use algorithms to search through data, find patterns, and make decisions or predictions.
For example, a video app might use data about what someone has watched before. Its algorithm looks for patterns, such as topics, creators, or styles the person seems to like. It can then recommend similar videos. This is why two people may see different recommendations on the same app.
Write examples of AI tools or apps you know. These answers will be added to your final lesson report.
